So, you want an adult character.
Well, Hogwarts Lives is based in Hogwarts, so the only way you can really have an adult character is to either create a Hogwarts staff member (see the thread) or to create someone who works in Diagon Alley or Hogsmeade.
Most of these characters will be shopkeepers. Just like shopkeepers in real life, shopkeepers on Hogwarts Lives have responsibilities. If you create a shopkeeper, it's your responsibility to roleplay with anyone who comes into your character's shop and needs customer service. If someone wants to buy something, you take care of that too.
Also like shopkeepers in real life, shopkeepers on Hogwarts Lives can lose their jobs. If you go inactive without warning or keep ignoring your shop, your character could find themselves out of work.
